Sweet Shot Tuesday

We had a tea party on Sunday - it was a friend's little girls 4th birthday. It was quite cute. Fancy tea cups, sugar cubes, pretty dresses, hats, feather boas - the works! The girls had such a good time and I got a few sweet shots of the birthday girl herself. Thanks for having us, Riley! Hope your birthday was full of "surprises".

Super-Dee-Duper

Sunday was Abbie's 2nd Birthday Party. It was a cold day but thankfully, no snow!
Friends & family gathered at our local fire hall (where Daddy happens to volunteer) to celebrate the joyous occasion.

The Birthday Girl was spiffy from head to toe, complete with her pink fuzzy boots!

Aunt Jo made the birthday cake. It wasn't so easy finding a Barney to go on top either, let me tell ya!

But in the end, it turned out adorable and everyone enjoyed a piece.

I love the crooked, sweet smile!

All of the kids showed their artistic side with some painting.

Abbie mostly concentrated on rinsing her brush out...

The rest of the festivities included a pinata, bouncy balls flying everywhere and a few short games of Red Robin & Simon Says!

Abbie was not really a happy camper when it came time to sing Happy Birthday but she was soon over that as she ripped off the paper to some presents!

Everyone had a fun day...

Happy Birthday, Cupcake!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Today my husband turn the big 4-0! Wow, where does the time go? I remember celebrating his 30th birthday with him... we had a big party with friends, family, catered food & a dj! 4 years later he did the same for me.

We have had many ups & downs the past 22 months with welcoming Jaelyn & Abbie into our family. We've endured sleepless nights, changed a ton of diapers, watched countless episodes of Caillou, Barney, The Wiggles & Dora. Thru all of it, my husband has been truly amazing and a wonderful father.

He was never one to just go right up and pick up a baby to hold whether it be his nieces or nephews or a friends newborn. He would quietly watch from the sidelines and witness the joy on my face as I held a little one, longing for one of my own. The night Jaelyn & Abbie came home to us changed all of that. Our 2 little girls have wrapped him right around his finger and it fills my heart to hear him being called "Daddy".

We sang Happy Birthday this morning (well, the version from Sprout anyways). We gave hugs & kisses and wish him a very good day. Tonight we will have a small cake with just the 4 of us and celebrate the best Daddy on earth!
