Friday Stuff!

Happy Friday!!
It's been quite the week. Jaelyn was sick last friday & into the weekend then, Abbie was sick as well and THEN for the past 2 days I've been sick! It's so fun when it gets passed around. Ugh! I think I've sprayed everything with Lysol at least 20 times each. Let's hope it goes away!

We were suppose to have mediation yesterday which was cancelled. Apparently all parties were not able to attend. This is the 3rd time it has been cancelled, I'm just begining to think it's not meant to be. All part of the plan....

I did get to work on Valentine's yesterday for the girls & their friends! I will showcase them to you all later... they are really cute! I really do like Valentine's Day and not just because I'm married and have a permanent Valentine.. it's more because it's a day of love. And doesn't this world need more of that?? Well, I think it does! I like the hearts, and mushy stuff and everyone (for the most part) happy and just that feeling of love everywhere. It's nice. That isn't to say we should all run out and buy candy & flowers & such on just this day but... it's nice to have a day devoted to love! Perhaps there should be more of them throughout the year!

Tonight I get another girls night out! Going to basket/bag Bingo again! Woohoo! I hope I win a new bag or a pretty new basket filled with good stuff! Either way, it's a night out with some girls and just a good time.

Tomorrow night is date night with hubby! We are going out with friends.. unsure of what we are doing yet (but isn't it fun when things are all planned out!?). We will see where the night takes us! Should be fun!

I hope all of you enjoy your weekend!!

5 Question Friday

1. Would you rather be on ABC's Extreme Home MakeOver or TLC's What not to Wear?
I'd have to say Extreme Home Makeover. Not that our house is falling apart or so bad we can't live in it like some I've seen on this show nor are we in anyway deserving of a makeover like everyone they pick for this show, which is so fabulous! BUT... have you SEEN the houses they build? GORGEOUS! Just gorgeous! I'd love for my girls to have their own rooms decorated perfectly for them and so on... I just think the house would be more for everyone instead of just myself. Not that a makeover with new clothes, hair, etc. wouldn't be nice either!

2. Do you have any tattoos?
Yes, just one. A little dragonfly on top of my right foot. I've only had it for a few years, too. I do not see myself as getting anymore either. I might add to the dragonfly once the adoption is final with something representing both the girls but.. we'll see!

3. Do you tell your kids about things you did growing up?
Not too much right now. Jaelyn got a few games that I played as a kid.. like Memory and I tell her I played it when I was little like her. Perhaps I will share more (or not) when they are older?

4. If the traffic signal turns yellow, do you stop or speed up?
I am notorious for speeding up. Unless the girls are in the back seat, then I slow down. I have a big of a heavy foot!

5. What's your preference: chocolate or chips?
CHOCOLATE!

Skywatch Friday

I took a walk with my hubby yesterday afternoon after being sick & on the couch for 2 days.
I needed some fresh air! It was quite chilly but it was a beautiful day... we realized we need to do more walking thru the woods & take the girls along. It's free, it's healthy, it's exercise and it was actually fun!

{The Jeep was our ride, lol... boys & their toys. *shakes head*}

Five Question Friday

Oh Friday, how I love thee! Let me count thy ways...

1 - off work for the next two days
2 - no real plans this weekend.. yay!
3 - tons of reading & relaxing planned
4 - celebrating our 'birthday' with the girls tomorrow
 - 2 years & 2 miracles!
5 - SLEEEEEEEPPPP!
6 - no scheduled lunch hour
7 - no aggravating  lovely people to deal with

Ok, thats enough for now!
On to some fun stuff...

My Little Life

1. If you had $1,000 to donate to a charity, which would you choose?
I really love the idea of giving to children. Especially children who are ill or
fighting a battle, so my choice would probably be Make A Wish foundation.

2. Snow days: Do you welcome them happily or are they a pain in your butt?
Here is the deal with snow days - if it gets me out of work
{9 times out of 10 it does not} they are a pain in the butt. If I get to stay
home, in my pjs, in front of the fire.. BRING THEM ON!!

3. What talent did you wish you had and why?
I wish I could knit. I know I could probably teach myself,
 and just maybe I might do that. But it would be great to just
wake up one day and be like.. Oh hey, I can totally knit!!

4. Are you a news, politics or celebrity gossip junkie?
I don't mind a mixed bag of all 3. I wouldn't say I'm a junkie but
I will watch the news, I will listen to our President
and I will pick up STAR magazine once in a while. Who can resist
knowing how Jesse James is making an ass of himself now, or
how much weight Oprah has lost this month? Come on now!

5. What is your favorite "cocktail"? (Are you a beer person, a kiddie cocktail junkie, or perhaps your more the "Cosmo" kind?! Anything flies...doesn't hafta be alcoholic!)
I am coffee, diet soda, water, flavored ice-tea, shots, kahlua, girly drink kind of person.
Ya got that?

Your Three Words & Friday Hops

Happy Friday everyone!

Best Friend's Wedding

That's right... one of my best friends is getting married!!!
I mentioned this earlier on this blog somewhere that she was engaged recently & it's been a long time coming so I am so super excited for her. I went to visit her to see her big rock and she never stopped smiling the entire time she was talking & telling me details. It was so SWEET!

She has an appointment tomorrow to try on some wedding dresses and asked me to go along and I am trying REALLY hard to make plans so I can, because I have been waiting FOREVER to see her in a white dress! {not as long as she has been waiting I'm sure, but you get the point!}.

I won't reveal all of the cool wedding plans they have made already but as September gets closer, I will probably be more giddy for her... just a warning!

Let the fun begin!!!

Friday Blog Hops:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Where did you meet your spouse and did you instantly know it was love?
My Husband & I were set up on a blind date by a woman I use to work with & her daughter. The date went well, obviously and the rest is history. I'm not sure we knew it was love 'instantly' but we did fall pretty hard for each other in a short amount of time. ♥
2. What is your favorite room in your house?
The living room - our couch is super comfy & the girls have most of their toys on there so we are in that room 90% of the time.
3. Can you wiggle your ears?
Why, yes I can!
4. What is your evening ritual?
Most nights it goes like this:
4:45 I am home - Hubster picks up the girls & arrives before or around the same time.
Play - Play - Play - Ask about their days - hugs & kisses!
6:00 (or around there) - Dinner
Play - Play - Play after dinner
7:00 - 7:30 baths
8:00 - 8:30 bedtime for the girls
then it's either relax, fold laundry, do some stuff, read, play on the computer, snuggle with hubby until bedtime which is about 10-11-ish.
The weekends are a little different; the girls may stay up later; we may go out somewhere, etc.!
5. How many hours of sleep do you need to function?
Ha! What is sleep? Seriously - I've functioned with anywhere from a couple hours sleep to 7 hours sleep so apparently it doesn't matter much nowadays!
Five Question Friday
Happy Friday!!!
I hear this rumor that some people have a 3-day weekend? Well, let me just tell you right now.. you suck! I don't have that luxury so I will be at work bright & early on Monday morning. I hope you feel guilty!! lol! :)
I am glad to have the 2 days off though, seems like this week was draggin so it will be nice to catch up on some laziness on the couch with my little princesses. Not for long though... tomorrow we have dance class {FINALLY, after 3 weeks of being off!} and then in the afternoon we have a birthday party to go to at The Little Gym. Is it just me or do you seem to go to more parties once you have kids? I know that is probably logical but man, it seems like all of sudden we go to birthday parties all of the time! Not that I mind, it does help get some energy out!
No plans on Sunday so hopefully it will be  rest day and more time for me to play with my camera. Oh how I love the natural light in our house around 10am but I only get to play on the weekends.
**EXCITING NEWS** Two of our very good friends FINALLY got engaged last night. I know she reads my blog so here is a shout-out to her... CONGRATULATIONS MARKIE & LIZ!!! ♥ I couldn't be happier for them and it has been a long time coming. I can't wait to help her with wedding plans, picking out dresses and all of that fun stuff. Exciting for sure!!
Now onto some fun stuff. I am participating in Five Question Friday this week hosted by My Little Life.
Rules for 5QF: Copy and paste the following
questions to your blog post, answer them,
then watch for the linky to appear Friday morning!
Oh, and HAVE FUN!!
1. What movie could you watch over and over again and not get tired of?
Wow, there are quite a few movies I could & DO watch over & over & over. I never get tired of them, however the hubster does moan & groan quite a bit. Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman, The Notebook, & Uptown Girls.. just to name a few. I also love The Sound of Music & Wizard of Oz! Then around Christmas time I could forever watch Elf, A Christmas Story & White Christmas. Oh yes!
2. What's your biggest pet peeve right now?
WAITING!! Is that a pet peeve? We are just waiting for some answers, which hopefuly we will have some insight to on 1/31/11 about our case with the girls. It will be 2 years since they were placed with us on 1/29 and we are ready {more than ready} to adopt and make everything legal. Patience is a virtue.
3. If you had to describe your best friend in five words or less, what would you say?
Fun, Caring, Sweet, Trustworthy & Handsome. That should give you a clue!
4. If you did not have to worry about money or go to school what would you do for a living?
Become a professional photographer and know everything there is to know about taking the perfect picture! Seriously, I love taking pictures and to get paid for it? BONUS!
5. What is your one "splurge" item, that you will always buy, no matter the cost?
BOOKS! BOOKS! BOOKS! Yes, I know they have kindles & nooks and all that fancy schmancy stuff now to read books on. But I love the feel of a book in my hand and how pretty & vintage they make my bookshelf look. Yep!
Great questions!! Thanks for checking in!
Stop in & tell me what your weekend plans are!
Five Question Friday
Rules for 5QF: Copy and paste the following questions to your blog post, answer them, then watch for the linky post to appear Friday morning and LINK UP!! Oh, yeah...and most importantly...HAVE FUN!!
Questions for Friday, November 5th: (Special thanks to Sandy, Bethany, Susan, Julianne(and Sugarkanke and some others, too!!) and Pam for their question suggestions! If YOU want to be linked in a future 5QF, c'mon over to my community and offer up some of your best question suggestions! You know you want to...) ;)
1. If you could have any talent and turn it into an occupation, what would it be?
Does a professional shopper count? I mean you do have to have some talent to shop, right? You have to have the ability to look for the best deals, get the before the crowds, pick the right shopping cart (I always get the one with the odd wheel, how does that happen?). I know there is such an occupation as professional shopper but that sounds too much like a job. I want to be able to buy the things I want, not from some list. Oh and I'd like to have a money tree from which I can pick money off daily to use for my shopping extravaganzas.
2. Would you rather have a house at the beach or a cabin in the woods?
BEACH! Although the peaceful, quiet, serenity of the woods sounds nice too. But, I'd still pick the beach. I love going there, I love the sounds, the smells, the water! Plus, I really wouldn't be too far from 'home' since I am only about an hour away now!
3. Is there any meaning or reasoning for the names you chose for your child/children?
Considering I didn't choose them, no. But I can't imagine them being anyone but Jaelyn & Abbie. ♥
4. What is your guilty pleasure? (I know we've done this one before, but I'm guessing people's "guilty pleasures" change frequently. At least, mine do!)
Coloring. Yes, coloring! Give me some crayons, a coloring book and I will sit for hours staying within the lines, picking the perfect colors to complete my masterpiece. I have colored with the girls a few times and although Jaelyn is getting better & better at becoming quite the little artist, her baby Sister completely ruins the experience, lol! She will run off with our crayons or books. Step on the pages. Scribbles on what we are colors to the point where I usually say OK, FORGET IT! Hopefully in time she will have the patience to sit with us, until then... Jaelyn & I will sneak off and color in peace. :)
5. Do you live in a house that is deep cleaned or straightened?
Is it possible to have both? For the most part my house is 'straightened'. But there are times when I get on deep clean kicks and shampoo carpets, wash walls/windows, take down the curtains & clean out cabinets. Those moments are far in between sometimes but they do happen! I have the used magic eraser to prove it.
