Happpppyyyyy Friiiiiidaaaaayyyyy!!!!

Yes, I'm happy it is yet again, the weekend.

It seems like this week kind of took forever. Not sure why. Just one of those weeks!

Last night wasn't a good night, Jaelyn had a bad day at school. Apparently she felt she could tell other kids what to do & say and not listen to her teacher. Oh this girl, her "smart mouth" is going to get her in so much trouble! She learns things the hard way it seems. She wasn't allowed to play with her leappad, watch any tv shows & went to bed early. Hopefully that all sunk in & today is better! She said she would apologize to her teacher today so I was happy to hear that.

Abbie's teacher has been out all week at daycare. Her baby girl was sick so she didn't have a good week either. Abbie hasn't been all too fond of going in & being her jolly self this week so when she saw Mrs. Jessie's pretty face this morning, she was more than happy! She ran to her & hugged her. It made me feel MUCH better about heading to work!

I hear through the grapevine & over the water cooler at work that we might be getting some snow tonight. About an inch maybe? But then rain tomorrow... sounds like it might be a nice MESS!

I am having a Tupperware party tomorrow. I haven't had any kind of party like this in years so I was like.. ok, sure, why not. I think more people want to order from the catalog then to just come & sit though. So, I hope the Tupperware lady isn't too disappointed if maybe 5 people are there. Sorry! People are just busy & prefer doing online easy convenient things!

Weekend Cell Phone Pictures

I'd like to try to do this every weekend! I just love capturing pictures on my cell phone - its easier to publish to facebook, etc. and to send to people to share. (but I still love my camera more than anything!!!) So, I thought I'd share here too! Here is our weekend in cell phone shots:

Friday - I decided to take the day off & have a 4-day weekend, wooohoo! I packed up the girls (& the babysitter!) and headed off to the beach. I only had the chance to take the girls 1 time last year. Hopefully this year we get to go lots! They LOVE it!

Saturday - We took the girls to Chuck-E-Cheese (no pictures of that crazy place!) and afterwards we stopped to get ice cream. Then we thought, uhmmm.. it might be a good idea to let the girls run off more energy to completely tire them out, ha ha! We stopped at this little park on the way home & had a few laughs!

{No fish in this stream Jaleyn said.. "just piggies cuz its dirty".. haha!}

Sunday - We more or less didn't leave the house or yard yesterday. Daddy made yummy waffles for breakfast and then we did make it outside for some playtime in the sprinkler, bike riding and a little cruise around the yard in the Jeep! Then we hung around coloring, playing play-doh and just relaxing which I think we all needed.

Friday!!!

It's finally here... yippee!!!

My first full week back to work. I'm not gonna lie, it was a little tough. I could get use to those 4-day work weeks! {hurry up with that daycare opening, hubby!}

Yesterday, Abbie came home sick from daycare for a 1/2 day. Hubby was kind enough to go pick her up and stay with her. My Mother-In-Law was a dear & came over to help. Apparently she had a slight fever at daycare and had tummy issues. BUT, she seemed just fine the rest of the afternoon so I think maybe it was something she ate or perhaps her 2-year old molars are finally thru? She was bouncing around in her ball pit and chasing her Sister later in the evening so all is good.

This morning Jaelyn had an 'accident' right after she was dropped off. I'm not sure if she just wet herself or what but again, hubby had to run clean clothes & sneakers to daycare. {which makes me think it was just an accident.} Sometimes she gets to involved in what she is doing and forgets to go potty until the last minute!

All I can say is it's nice & not nice that Hubby is not working right now because I would have had to take off yesterday afternoon and been SUPER late to work this morning! {Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind but I'm sure my employer wouldn't be so happy happy about it.}

It was also snowing this morning and the roads were covered. Sometimes I do believe people forget how to drive when there is less than an inch of snow on the ground moreso than when there is a foot of snow! RIDICULOUS drive to work. {I was 15 minutes late, oops!} I have an SUV so I don't mind the snow so much but I do have to be patient with other drivers. {ahem!}

Yesterday we received some good news. The judge on our case with the girls foster/adoption has decided to do a proof hearing on 1/31 {original court date was 3/1}. YAY! It has been 2 years on 1/29 that the girls were placed with us and apparently he feels that is long enough. Well, about time! I will update you more on this as I find out more. For now, it's a positive thing for which I am thankful for.

What are my weekend plans you ask? Jaelyn has ballet tomorrow - I sure hope she is good & listens because the past few times she's had issues with this! After that, nothing is on the agenda. Maybe it won't be so freezing cold and we can go outside at some point so I can play with my camera more!!

Halloween Sneak Peak

What a lovely weekend it was! The weather was mild, no rain and we actually had no plans on the calendar, except for dance class on Saturday morning with Jaelyn. I am proud to report she did well this week (2nd week!), she went right into the studio, put her little tap shoes in her special hula hoop and off she went prancing on her tippy toes. She was very proud of herself at the end of class and so was I.

After a quick lunch & somewhat of a nap, which is a whole other blog in itself (my 22 month old is refusing a nap anymore! AHHH!) we met my Sister and 2 children at a local park for some picture-taking and playing. I wanted to try to get some shots of the girls in their Halloween costumes before the whole trick-or-treating thing which is rushed & all that. So we put on our costumes and off to the park we went.

Now, Abbie is not fond of pictures right now. Getting her to sit still is near impossible. She would rather do her own thing, which I am ok with but it doesn't exactly make for the cute catelog pictures I picture in my head. Here are some examples of such:

This first one isn't so bad... but this is after some major dancing around like a fool, yelling SAY CHEESE ABBIE and so forth.. haha!

This is the stubborn bumble bee refusing to pose, smile, look at me, etc. However, I think this pretty is pretty stinkin' cute!


As you can see, she is a bumble bee. How perfect does it fit her personality you say? To a TEE! She is always buzzing around, always on the go, never stops and completely wears you out after chasing after her (althout a bee chases you but you get the idea). I love the outfit with it's girly tutu flair and fur. She is one sweet bee!

Jaelyn is Minnie Mouse, of course! She is all things Minnie Mouse/Mickey Mouse right now so this was an obvious choice. Plus this cute costume was once worn by my niece, Gracie so it came in quite handy! Jaelyn doesn't mind "modeling" for me or smiling or showing off... she is quite the girly girl!





I am excited for Trick-or-Treat this year as both girls get the concept and we've been practicing as well! It should be a fun day and beings that it is on Saturday this year, all the better! More time to enjoy it without so much rushing maybe?

I promised we could play after pictures and the girls didn't let me forget. It was a pretty day though so we all didn't mind soaking up some sun and enjoy the neat jungle gym stuff!

Jaelyn's BUSY weekend!

I have a totally insanely crazy busy weekend ahead of me. WHEW! That sentence just made me tired.

Tonight we have rehearsal for my cousin Terry's wedding at 6:30pm. Jaelyn is the flower girl and can I just tell you how adorable she looks in her dress?? I'm *crossing my fingers* that her and the ringbearer hit it off tonight and get comfortable with each other so that she will actually make that trip down the aisle with him. She isn't the outspoken one like her sister but she is girly & loves to dress up so I'm hoping that will inspire her.

After rehearsal we will head home for a little family time before bed!

Saturday, Jaelyn has her very first dance class! It's a combination of ballet & tap. I'm excited to see how she does and also to see her in little pink tights & a pink tutu - I mean really, does it get any cuter? The class is from 10:15 to 11:15 and hopefully my little ballerina will smile & enjoy herself. Again, she can be a bit shy & timid but looooves to dance (at least around the living room when CMT is on).

After dance we are coming home to eat lunch, get a quick bath so I can put her hair up in curlers and then *fingers crossed* a little nap before her flower girl debut! Once we are all well rested we will head over to the Bride's for some pampering and pictures. The wedding will follow and our pretty little girl will *fingers crossed again* walk down the aisle looking like the little angel she is (most days!). Then its off to party & eat at the reception!

I feel kind of guilty that my little one, Miss Abbie will be with Daddy almost all weekend long while the world will be revolving around Jaelyn but I have no doubts she will enjoy all of the Daddy-Attention she will be getting. I may have to slip her a cookie here & there just as a little *wink wink* between her & I, haha.

On Sunday afternoon, I am hoping a few friends come to visit and of course some family time, football and maybe even a big pot of chili will be in order! We shall see.

For now, I am bracing myself for all of the crazyness this weekend will bring but I know it will be worth it all to see the smiles that go along with it! ♥
