I took a quick time-out with Marissa to ask some questions:

 

What state do you call "home"?

Texas, born and raised...never lived anywhere else!

When did you start blogging?

October 2009

Besides blogging, what do you like doing in your spare time?

working out and being with my family, I love to have FUN!

How many children do you have?

2 boys and they are complete and total opposites!

What is the one thing your boys can do that can bring a smile to your face no matter how bad your day is going?

It's when the boys will be playing and call out my name and when I answer, they simply say...I love you, Mommy! Ahhh no matter what kind of day I'm having, that alone will bring a smile to my face and warm my heart! It's true!

What does your family do for fun?

We love to be outdoors, anything outside! We love taking walks and going fun places when Daddy is home from work! And when its the boys and I, we play and act silly! They love when their Mommy can make them laugh! Oh and our most favorite game is CHASE...they can run in circles all day long :)

What do you find is the most fun about blogging?

Oh this one is easy, all the MOST amazing fellow bloggers that I've met!! I feel like if I met them in "real" life, they'd be my best friends! They are the support I need when my day isn't going so great, they keep me laughing and they've taught me SO much about family!

Where is your favorite place to shop for your boys?

I love me some Marshalls and TJMaxx, I can find the cutest clothes there for half the price of the mall! Oh and I love Finish Line because I can't help myself, I totally spend way too much money on their shoes!!

What advice would you give a new Mom?

Make the smallest moments count. Take them all in and soak them up! Don't let these times pass you by and never take a second for granted. Being a mother is the GREATEST joy of my life!

What do you like to do to pamper yourself?

I love pedicures! Something about watching Food Network in closed caption, while soothing music is playing and someone is rubbing my feet just does it for me! LOL! Sounds silly when I write that out, but its So true :)

Happy Friday!

Happy, Happy FRIDAY!!

I always seem to be in good spirits & a better mood when Friday rolls around. It's like, yay! I finally made it! Two days of not sitting at a desk.. woohoo!! Let's just hope the weather coincides with my good mood and it remains nice out.

Our weekend plans include: dance class on Saturday morning, a birthday party with family on Saturday night and perhaps a visit to the Easter Bunny on Sunday. Abbie wanted nothing to do with Santa so not sure how she will feel about a giant bunny with a goofy grin on his face. Might be interesting!

Our social worker brought over the last of the paperwork for us to sign last night! YAY! As it looks now we are still on target for May 20th (my birthday is May 23 - what an AWESOME birthday present!). Now, we meet with our lawyer to sign MORE paperwork and then everything can be filed with the state. Keep your fingers cross and send up a prayer or two! We are in the home stretch so it's just knowing when our special day will be at this point. Then.. A BIG PARTY!!! I can't wait to celebrate our new family! ♥

outside my window...

the sun is shining, yay! It's been a dreary 2 days so it's nice to finally see that big orange ball up in the sky.

i am thinking...

about what I want for my birthday. It's still a little over a month away but I get excited, haha! (I think maybe it's a kindle with a pretty new Vera Bradly cover for it!)

i am learning...

that even the smallest things can make me smile. Last night after dinner, Jaelyn was singing at the top of her lungs and Abbie was screaming at the top of hers..you couldn't even hear yourself think. I was standing at the sink and hubby comes over looks at me... I look at him.. and we both just burst out LAUGHING. ♥

i am wearing...

my dressy brown pants and a shirt with brown, turquoise and cream in it. eh, work attire!

i am creating...

nothing at the moment. My creativity is slacking.

i am going...

to work shortly!

our Social Worker gives us the news tonight that MAY 20th is ADOPTION DAY for us!! *fingers crossed*

I have a seminar at work today, our Social Worker is visiting tonight, another meeting tomorrow with a company rep at work, Dance on Saturday with Jaelyn and then celebrating a birthday with Family on Saturday evening. WHEW!

Wordish Wednesday

The weather was gorgeous here over the weekend so on Sunday we all took a little trip to a local park in the afternoon to play! The park wasn't TOO overly crowded so the girls go to try out every slide there. I remember a time when they couldn't really go up the jungle gym by theirselves and certainly not down those GIANT slides... *sigh* this time they were all over the place, up the steps, down the slides, across the little balance beam. They had tons of fun!

FUN FUN FUN!!

Needless to say, we are ready for more of the warmer weather so we can be outside more. I love that they get to run & jump & laugh! And, it doesn't hurt that they are just worn out by bedtime!

(what a gloomy day it is today though... yuck!)
