Abbie-cember

My baby girl is turning 3 (WHAT!) on December 16th. I still can't believe it. Wasn't she JUST a baby? Depending on me for EVERYTHING? When did she become this, this, this.. little girl. :(

In honor of her, I wanted to share some photos of her that I've recently re-edited and I've renamed this month Abbie-cember, get it? Well, I thought it was cute. This series of photos are some of my favorites. Ok, well really all of her pictures are my favorite but these are on a beach. Abbie + Beach are 2 of my favorite things so they are pretty near perfect in my opinion. :D

These were from last Summer, right before Jaelyn's 3rd birthday. When I look at these pictures, they make me think of  OH! The Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss.

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go.

You’ll look up and down streets. Look’em over with care. About some you will say, “I don’t choose to go there.” With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet, you’re too smart to go down a not-so-good street.

And you may not find any you’ll want to go down. In that case, of course, you’ll head straight out of town. It’s opener there in the wide open air.

Out there things can happen and frequently do to people as brainy and footsy as you.

And when things start to happen, don’t worry. Don’t stew. Just go right along. You’ll start happening too.

Oh! The Places You’ll Go!
You’ll be on your way up!
You’ll be seeing great sights!
You’ll join the high fliers who soar to high heights.

You won’t lag behind, because you’ll have the speed. You’ll pass the whole gang and you’ll soon take the lead. Wherever you fly, you’ll be best of the best. Wherever you go, you will top all the rest.

I’m afraid that some times you’ll play lonely games too. Games you can’t win ‘cause you’ll play against you.

All Alone!
Whether you like it or not, Alone will be something you’ll be quite a lot.
And when you’re alone, there’s a very good chance you’ll meet things that scare you right out of your pants. There are some, down the road between hither and yon, that can scare you so much you won’t want to go on.
But on you will go though the weather be foul. On you will go though your enemies prowl. On you will go though the Hakken-Kraks howl. Onward up many a frightening creek, though your arms may get sore and your sneakers may leak. On and on you will hike. And I know you’ll hike far and face up to your problems whatever they are.

You’ll get mixed up, of course, as you already know. You’ll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go. So be sure when you step. Step with care and great tact and remember that Life’s a Great Balancing Act. Just never forget to be dexterous and deft. And never mix up your right foot with your left.

And will you succeed?
Yes! You will, indeed!
(98 and ¾ percent guaranteed.)

Kid, you’ll move mountains!

So…be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray or Mordecai Ale Van Allen O’Shea, you’re off to Great Places!

Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So…get on your way!

Short & Sassy Hair! // Wordish Wednesday

My Mom's best friend was visiting for Thanksgiving and she is probably the most awesome hair stylist ever. Plus, she's been cutting my hair (& everyone else in our family) since I was a little bit older than my girls are now. She took a few minutes on Thanksgiving, yes she WORKED on Thanksgiving to cut my hair, my girls hair and make us look FANTASTIC!

I capture a few pics with my iPhone... seriously, I need to pull out the big camera. I'm just getting lazy & its easier to snap with my phone. I just need to learn to take better pics with it now!

She took a few inches off.. ok, maybe more than a few. But I love it on both of them!

Linking up with:

Everybody loves a parade!

Sunday was an absolutely GORGEOUS day for November. 65-ish degree weather.. are you serious?? So I packed up some juice & snacks, me & the girls headed off to the parade. Hubby was being a typical male (different story for a different time!) so we left him home to do whatever he wanted! We met my Sister and her 2 kids and then my Brother & Sister-In-Law came along too! So the girls had plenty of cousins (& some extra friends) to sit and enjoy the parade with.

I was able to snap some pictures with my iPhone... I didn't edit any of these or anything so they are straight from my phone!

I snapped this picture on the way to our perfect parade watching spot of Abbie & Brent. Isn't that adorable??

What's a parade without some bands? woohoo!
I was a baton twirler & in bandfront for many, many years so seeing them brought back some wonderful memories! :)

A few floats of course... my niece, Candy was on this one for her church!
She threw us some yummy candy!!

And of course some horses... always fun & the kids love them.

We couldn't END the parade without SANTA!!!
So cute, the kids jumped up & down, waved and had big smiles on their faces.

So, there you have it! A small town Christmas parade. Looks fun eh? I didn't take pictures of everything but I bet we sat there for a good hour and the kids had TONS of candy! Cute! I'm so glad we went! :)

Do you have Christmas parades in  your town? Do you go? Tell me about it!

The Paper Mama :: Holiday Photo Challenge

Chelsey over at The Paper Mama inspired me to be a little funny this year & create a Christmas card. I actually had fun with this & was laughing at myself while doing it. Total dork, I know but hey... isn't that what the holidays are about? Smiling & enjoying!

So, here is my entry for her super cute Holiday Photo Challenge. hehe!
Doesn't this inspire you to be creative, too? If not, then clink on the button below and go check out more or at least have a giggle or two at all the cute pictures.

Wordish Wednesday: Epi Pen

It's been a slow week in pictures, forgive me. Rain doesn't help and the busy schedule of the holidays coming up and well, I could keep making excuses. I really just haven't picked up my camera (but my iPhone is a different story!)... anyways...

I did take this lovely shot of a new thing around our house. Abbie's Epi Pen.
 :(

Yes, she is "officially" allergic to peanuts. She had her allergy testing done last week and the peanut testing spot swelled up immediately. She has to go back next month for a little more testing on different tree nuts - almonds, cashews, etc.

It's a little scary and a little relieving at the same time? I mean.. I hope we NEVER EVER EVER have to use this thing. That would be very scary. But, I'm relieved to know now what has caused her breaking out into hives and scary the crap out of me once & for all.

I've been reading up on peanut allergies. Not so bad. After everything she went through to come into this world & to be a part of ours, this is nothing we can't handle! ♥
