Wordish Wednesday

{Throw back picture!}
Could this really have been almost a year ago? GAH!
My baby girl looks so BABYish!
Her little chubby baby cheeks are almost gone, her hair is getting so long, she's getting so independent... NO! It can't be!! This makes me so sad!
But she is indeed growing up.
Good thing I took millions of pictures too look thru!

♥ Happy Valentine's Day ♥

Happy Valentine's Day!

In honor of this special lovers day, I thought I'd share a quick story about our very first date!
We met through a co-worker of mine. She had been asking me questions here & there and then finally admitted she wanted to 'set me up' with someone. I was skeptical. I was in college, had a job, had my freedom and wasn't really into dating. I was just going about my way. But alas, I agreed and the double date was set up with my co-workers daughter & her husband as we were all the same age.

I walked into K&B's house all nervous and shy. We were introduced for the first time and he handed me a single red rose with a smile. We decided on dinner & a movie and off we went!

I was so nervous at dinner and was thankful that K&B were with us as they 'broke the ice' a few times asking questions. I remember ordering a diet coke and squeezing my lemon into it and it squirted everywhere. haha! Chris laughed and said something like 'lemony fresh!'. We finished dinner & headed off to the movies.

We took our seats to watch Indecent Proposal (that is aging myself eh?). It looked like a good movie but as a first date movie.. yeah ummm, no! I squirmed in my seat so much during certain scenes thinking.. WHO PICKED THIS DAMN MOVIE!!?? I'm not sure I really even knew what the movie was about by the time it was done because my nerves were completely shot.

We rode home, mostly in silence.
K&B said goodnight & walked in... Chris walked me to my jeep.
I thanked him for a nice night & the pretty rose.
I asked if he wanted my number, he told me he had already stolen it from K. *blush*
We both smiled.
I awkwardly played with my hands, fiddling with my keys.
He lifted my chin ....and then he kissed me.

the rest as they say, is history.

Friday Stuff!

Happy Friday!!
It's been quite the week. Jaelyn was sick last friday & into the weekend then, Abbie was sick as well and THEN for the past 2 days I've been sick! It's so fun when it gets passed around. Ugh! I think I've sprayed everything with Lysol at least 20 times each. Let's hope it goes away!

We were suppose to have mediation yesterday which was cancelled. Apparently all parties were not able to attend. This is the 3rd time it has been cancelled, I'm just begining to think it's not meant to be. All part of the plan....

I did get to work on Valentine's yesterday for the girls & their friends! I will showcase them to you all later... they are really cute! I really do like Valentine's Day and not just because I'm married and have a permanent Valentine.. it's more because it's a day of love. And doesn't this world need more of that?? Well, I think it does! I like the hearts, and mushy stuff and everyone (for the most part) happy and just that feeling of love everywhere. It's nice. That isn't to say we should all run out and buy candy & flowers & such on just this day but... it's nice to have a day devoted to love! Perhaps there should be more of them throughout the year!

Tonight I get another girls night out! Going to basket/bag Bingo again! Woohoo! I hope I win a new bag or a pretty new basket filled with good stuff! Either way, it's a night out with some girls and just a good time.

Tomorrow night is date night with hubby! We are going out with friends.. unsure of what we are doing yet (but isn't it fun when things are all planned out!?). We will see where the night takes us! Should be fun!

I hope all of you enjoy your weekend!!

5 Question Friday

1. Would you rather be on ABC's Extreme Home MakeOver or TLC's What not to Wear?
I'd have to say Extreme Home Makeover. Not that our house is falling apart or so bad we can't live in it like some I've seen on this show nor are we in anyway deserving of a makeover like everyone they pick for this show, which is so fabulous! BUT... have you SEEN the houses they build? GORGEOUS! Just gorgeous! I'd love for my girls to have their own rooms decorated perfectly for them and so on... I just think the house would be more for everyone instead of just myself. Not that a makeover with new clothes, hair, etc. wouldn't be nice either!

2. Do you have any tattoos?
Yes, just one. A little dragonfly on top of my right foot. I've only had it for a few years, too. I do not see myself as getting anymore either. I might add to the dragonfly once the adoption is final with something representing both the girls but.. we'll see!

3. Do you tell your kids about things you did growing up?
Not too much right now. Jaelyn got a few games that I played as a kid.. like Memory and I tell her I played it when I was little like her. Perhaps I will share more (or not) when they are older?

4. If the traffic signal turns yellow, do you stop or speed up?
I am notorious for speeding up. Unless the girls are in the back seat, then I slow down. I have a big of a heavy foot!

5. What's your preference: chocolate or chips?
CHOCOLATE!

Skywatch Friday

I took a walk with my hubby yesterday afternoon after being sick & on the couch for 2 days.
I needed some fresh air! It was quite chilly but it was a beautiful day... we realized we need to do more walking thru the woods & take the girls along. It's free, it's healthy, it's exercise and it was actually fun!

{The Jeep was our ride, lol... boys & their toys. *shakes head*}

Mediation takes place at the court house. My husband and I, the girls Bio-Mom, lawyers, social workers will all be in attendance. We sit down & discuss the future of the girls & try to reach an agreement as to what is best for them. After 2 years, this makes me very nervous but also happy. Although I cannot predict the end result, I hope that things get settled instead of having their Bio-Mom go to trial. Say a little prayer, please. ♥

Photo Challenge ---- Yellow

I know I've been slacking in here but between a yucky sickness going around here and just being plain busy, my computer has been collected a little bit of dust!

I hear snow is in the forecast for this week so maybe I'll get a snow day & get all caught up on some stuff?? haha.. not sure if that is bad or good!?

I hope some of my friends in Texas has enjoyed a bit of 'winter'!! Glad to see some of you may have even gotten SNOW!! Yay!

Ok, well I've decided to join in on another fun photo challenge. This isn't a new picture but when I saw the theme was "yellow", I immediately thought of my little bumble bee!

This was Abbie's Halloween costume this past year. It was perfect for her since she is quite the little bee always buzzing around. She was at a point where she REFUSED to let me take her picture. Was not having it! So, this was a result. My bumble bee with a little attitude. haha.. I still love this picture as it just shows her personality to a tee!!

Please be sure to go check out all of the other fabulous entries!!

Wordish Wednesday

We took the girls out on Sunday to build a snowman since this last snowfall was perfect snowman snow, if ya know what I mean. The girls were thrilled to be outside no matter how cold it was, which just always makes me laugh. They really couldn't be bothered with rolling around the ball of snow though so they ran thru snow drifts & climbed on their swingset while Chris & I huffed & puffed building a snowman. When it was all said & done though, Jaelyn thought he was the best thing ever. The way she looked at him, I really think she thought he might come to life & start dancing with her. It was too cute! This was one of my favorite pictures I captured. I added the 'snow' effect just because I thought it looked cool.

Things went well in court on Monday. The trial date is set for March 1st so we are just keep our heads up & praying.

I am thankful this week that we are not being crippled by the massive storm coming across the States. We have been "lucky" enough to only get rain thus far, which is fine by me. To those of you getting snow... I hope you are enjoying it & it's not put too much of a damper on your week!

Happy Wednesday!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

I am participating in Scavenger Hunt Sunday again. I love doing this! It really helps me to challenge myself with different pictures. You should try it too!!

Texture
The back of our brick house & the hose that never got put away for Winter.

Button
La La Loopsy & her button eyes.

Fog
Ok, not really 'fog' so-to-speak; it's kind of hard to get fog when there is snow on the ground or it's cloudy... we don't get much of it here at all, really. But, I promise to be on the lookout for fog & try to take pictures of it in the very near future!! For now, you get a picture with a sort of foggy feel to it.

Drink
I haven't been feeling all too swell so lots of Ginger Ale helped!

Seventies
Hello Kitty has certainly been around since the 70s! She is vintage in my book. However, the shoes are currently just waiting to be worn again in the Summer. I really did take this picture this week believe it or not... one of the rare days it wasn't SNOWING!
