Your Three Words & 5Q Friday

                      ~ O, Christmas Tree~

I finally got all of the pumpkins and fall stuff put away. I know, I know.. I'm probably behind on this as most of you more than likely already have your stockings hung, trees decorated and you've been baking sweet gingerbread cookies in your Christmas apron since the day after Thanksgiving right? Well pffft to you!

The plan is to get the Christmas tree down from the attic along with the 10,000 boxes of Christmas decorations. (maybe slightly less but I like to exaggerate for the sheer purpose of a giggle ok?!).

I know this year I am probably in for a real surprise. I mean really, with a 2 year old & 3 year old what are the chances of my tree looking like it belongs in a Martha Stewart magazine? But I'm ok with it. I've come to terms with the fact that the top part of my tree will be just how I want it and the bottom half will simply be my girls creativity at it's best! I will not stress over it. I will not care if all of the decorations are in one little blob on one side of the tree. I will not care if anything gets broken (although I will try my best not to put any breakables within reach!). I am simply going to put it up, decorate it and then sit back with a cup of hot chocolate and see how long it takes for it to truly take its shape from my little artists.

Did that sound convincing?

Welcome to Five Question Friday!! Your very own super fun excuse for an easy blog post! ;)

Rules for 5QF: Copy the following questions to your blog post, answer them, then watch for the linky to appear Friday morning and link up!!

Oh, and make sure you have lot's of fun, too!!

1. What's on the top of your holiday wish list and why?!
Well, a new lense was on the top of my holiday wish list. Why? you ask... well, because I'm really getting into this photography thing. I love looking at photography blogs & checking out all the creative ideas people come up with to photograph. I love learning new things. I love every aspect of photography right now and so I wanted a new lense that zooms in further than what I have now!

And, I kinda already know that I got it... because I was skimming thru Amazon on Cyber Monday and that lense happen to be pretty darn reasonable so I mentioned it to Hubby and yeah... click, click, click... it's on it's way in the mail!

2. What is your favorite Christmas gift from the past?
Well, if I had to pick just one it would be my engagement ring. Maybe cheesey.. BUT.. it was a memorable Christmas Eve and a joy to see my then boyfriend get down on one knee with a dozen roses and a pretty little box to ask me to be his wife. It was just the two us.. it was romantic.. it was sweet and it was a favorite Christmas!

3. If you had life to do over, what would you be when you grow up?
Hmmmm... I probably would have finished school & became the teacher I always wanted to be. Life got in the way and took me elsewhere but I remember always wanting to be a teacher since way back when.

4. When do you put up your tree?
Normally the second week of December - so this week! I'm sure I've put it up later or earlier at some point but the standard timing is this week.

5. What is your favorite Holiday?
This is a toss up really. Halloween is fun with the little ones, seeing them dressed up & saying "Trick or Treat!" but Christmas is always so family filled. I longed for the day of staying home in my pj's while the kids played with their new toys and that is exactly what we did last year & plan on doing this year! So, I'm going to say it's a tie right now between Halloween & Christmas!

Wordish Wednesday

I had the great pleasure of having a photo shoot with my best friends daughter, Amber over the weekend. She not only did every pose, stand & smile I asked her... she's also adorable too! So, I didn't really  have to even break a sweat walking around taking snapshots of her here & there (plus it was quite cold that day anyways!).

I can't tell you how nice it was to just say 'ok, stand here and do this' and get just that! Instead of running around with 2 toddlers trying to get them to just look at the camera ONCE! haha... someday they won't want me to stop taking pictures, I just know it. For now, I will practice photographing nieces, loved ones and perhaps even animals!

Here are some of my favorite pictures from Amber's photo shoot:

and I did a little editing with this one... I just love pictures 'walking away'..
I'm not sure why!

Thank you, Amber for being so adorable & easy to photograph!!

Jaelyn's First Haircut ::: 11-26-10

Oh how I contemplated with myself over this! But now that it's done, I'm so happy!

Jaelyn's hair had been getting rather long but it was still that wispy, all different layers, thin baby hair. So, my Mom's best friend was visiting for the Thanksgiving Holiday and she just so happens to be the best hairdresser in the world!

She came over on Friday night for some leftover apple pie, coffee and did both Jaelyn's hair & mine (which so needed it!!).

Jaelyn had to be distracted with some Yogo Bites but she was fine sitting up there with Aunt Val "making her hair look pretty".

That's Mom-Mom in the background with the Yogo Bites!

Bye-bye baby, wispy, thin hair! :(

But look at this little sassy girl now with her shorter hair....

The little cut on her nose is a casualty from her little sister in the bathtub!
Even with her wound, she still looks adorable & I love her hair!!
